This course is presented over four days with each day lasting 8-hours. We will work with your organization to schedule and register participants. On the last day of training students are given a hands-on test that will provide them an opportunity to measure how effective the instruction was presented received. This 2-day course provides an introduction to technologies that will dominate local, metropolitan, and wide-area networks (WANs) beyond the Year 2000. Topics covered include the major functions of: bridges, routers, gateways, fiber distributed data interface (FDDI), Frame Relay, SMDS, the 802.6 standard, synchronous optical networks (SONET), ATM, Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network (BISDN), Advanced Intelligent Networks (AIN), optical transport using dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM), Lambda-wavelength switching, and Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP).This 1-day course is designed to present an overview of the evolving telecommunications marketplace. We will discuss existing, as well as emerging telecom technologies. This course will introduce SMDS, ATM, and Broadband ISDN .
